Children's Health

Join ADLM in celebrating Children's Health Month in October! Laboratory medicine plays a critical role in ensuring that pediatric patients receive safe, precise, and timely care.
Championing pediatric reference intervals (PRIs)

Children are not small adults. Their developing bodies require accurate, age-specific laboratory tests and reference intervals tailored to their specific needs. ADLM leads efforts to establish evidence-based PRIs so that test results are interpreted correctly for children of every age.

ADLM is calling on Congress to fund the CDC's PRI initiative.

Pediatric Lab Puzzles

Pediatric lab medicine has many unique challenges that impact patient care, including specimen ordering, collection, and result interpretation.

In this webinar, Dr. Dickerson will discuss common challenges in pediatric lab medicine, framed by common questions asked to laboratory professionals by care providers and share case examples to illustrate approaches to these challenges. These include 1) difficult collections; 2) pediatric reference interval validation techniques; and 3) optimizing laboratory stewardship for this population.
