It is an honor and privilege to serve as the chair of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, formerly AACC) Global Lab Quality Initiative (GLQI) Africa Working Group and to lead the group in its effort to improve laboratory quality in the underserved communities of African countries. It is exciting to be able to have a positive impact on the quality of clinical laboratory services on a global scale, and particularly in Africa.
The GLQI Africa Working Group will work together with national societies to improve the quality of clinical laboratory services within the African region. This will be done through education and training in line with ADLM’s vision, mission, and strategic goals of promoting the value of laboratory medicine internationally, especially in the developing countries of the world.
We all stand to benefit from this initiative seeing that it directly impacts patient care with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes.
Therefore, we will do all we can to make this program a success by working hand in hand with our sponsors and partners.
