ADLM advocates for CDC Environmental Health funding

On December 10, ADLM joined more than 50 national and state health organizations in urging Congress to increase funding for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) in the FY 2026 Labor-HHS appropriations bill. In the comment letter, healthcare organizations emphasized the essential role NCEH plays in supporting public health laboratories and environmental monitoring programs that help communities detect and respond to health threats.

Stakeholders highlighted the importance of programs such as the Environmental Public Health Tracking Network and the National Biomonitoring Network, which generate data foundational to exposure assessment, surveillance, and preparedness. Ensuring robust funding for these initiatives strengthens the diagnostic ecosystem that supports patient care and community health.

ADLM will continue engaging with policymakers and advocating for the resources needed to maintain critical national and state environmental health capabilities.
