ADLM supports 220 million for NCHS in FY 2026

On April 24, ADLM joined over 50 public health, research, and medical organizations in a letter to congressional appropriators requesting $220 million in funding for the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in FY 2026. The letter, addressed to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittees, emphasized the essential role of NCHS in producing timely, accurate, and comprehensive health data to guide federal policy and research.

The coalition’s letter noted that recent public health crises have underscored the need for more frequent and granular data to inform decisions on national preparedness, equity, and care delivery. Increased investment would allow NCHS to modernize data collection systems, strengthen support for the Vital Statistics System, and better serve policymakers, providers, researchers, and the public.

ADLM has continued to advocate for robust federal investment in public health data infrastructure to support evidence-based decision-making and improve national health outcomes.
