ADLM submits comments to HHS on accelerating healthcare AI

On February 11, 2026, ADLM submitted comments to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology in response to the agency’s request for information on accelerating AI adoption in clinical care.

The association emphasized that high-quality, harmonized laboratory data are foundational to safe AI deployment. Without standardized measurements across platforms, algorithm performance can degrade, increasing the risk of misdiagnosis and biased outcomes.

The association recommends increased federal investment in clinical standardization programs, development of transparent validation frameworks, and clear delineation of regulatory responsibilities for AI oversight. ADLM also highlighted the need for representative datasets and ongoing post-market monitoring to ensure sustained accuracy across patient populations.

These recommendations reinforce ADLM’s commitment to responsible, evidence-based AI integration that advances both quality and equity in patient care.
