ADLM continues advocacy for laboratory data harmonization

ADLM continues urging Congress to strengthen federal investment in laboratory data harmonization and CDC’s Clinical Standardization Programs. Harmonized laboratory data help ensure that test results are comparable across settings, support accurate clinical interpretation, improve public health surveillance, and strengthen the reliability of data-driven tools, including artificial intelligence. ADLM members have helped policymakers understand that laboratory data infrastructure is directly tied to patient safety, interoperability, research, and healthcare innovation. ADLM and coalition partners will continue advocating for additional resources to scale federal harmonization and standardization programs so that laboratories, clinicians, patients, and public health agencies can benefit from more consistent and reliable laboratory data.
