The Capital Section sponsors yearly trainee award(s), typically in the amount of $1,000, to support work presented at the Association of Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) Annual Meeting. The award is intended to support the professional development of trainees, including registration fees, travel costs, professional society membership fees, scientific books and electronic resources, and other similar costs.
The following eligibility criteria will apply:
● The applicant is a member of the ADLM Capital Local Section.
● The applicant has a poster or podium presentation accepted for the next ADLM Annual Meeting.
Posters and presentations will be judged based on the following categories:
Background
The rationale for the study is clearly stated.
Sufficient background information is provided to support the rationale.
Methods
The methods chosen and applied are appropriate for the research.
The method section is comprehensive, and the methods are clearly explained.
Results
The results are clearly stated with supporting statistical analysis.
Conclusions
The conclusions are supported by the results.
The conclusions include the future direction of the research, or provide recommendations to improve practice.
