2026 George Grannis Award for Excellence in Research and Scientific Publication
Dr. Catherine Omosule, PhD, DABCC, NRCC, is associate medical director of pediatric laboratory services at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and assistant professor of pathology at Washington University in St. Louis. She received her PhD in biochemistry from University of Missouri–Columbia and completed her fellowship in clinical chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Omosule’s work focuses on biomarker development and validation, non-invasive sampling methodologies, and pediatric laboratory medicine. Her recent research centers on myo-inositol as a novel biomarker for detecting kidney injury and disease. In 2024, she received a Wellcome Trust Early Career Award to support validation studies among at-risk populations in Ghana as a research fellow at the University of Ghana Medical Centre. She is an active member of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine and serves with the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine Committee for Emerging Technologies in Pediatric Laboratory Medicine.
