Hans Frykman, MD, PhD, FRCPC has a PhD in biocatalysis and chemistry. After medical school at the Karolinska Institute, he trained in internal medicine and oncology at Karolinska Hospital and in medical biochemistry at UBC, focusing on clinical chemistry and laboratory immunology. He trained in neuroimmunology with Drs. Vincent, Paddy Waters, and David Beeson (Oxford); Dr. Honnorat (France); and Drs. Graus and Dalmau (Spain). In neurochemistry, he has been training with Dr. Kaj Blennow at the University of Gothenburg since 2020. He is the founder and medical director of BC Neuroimmunology Laboratory located in the UBC Hospital, and the medical director for Lykke Lab, a genetics laboratory on the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver, BC. He is also the CSO for Neurocode Lab Inc. in Bellingham, WA, a high-complexity specialty lab focused on neuroimmunology and biomarkers in neurodegeneration. Additionally, he serves as center director for advanced biochemistry at National Reference Lab, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr. Frykman holds a clinical faculty position at the UBC, Faculty of Medicine, Division of Neurology.
