Veni Bharti, PhD, NRCC is a board-certified clinical chemist at provincial laboratories, Health PEI, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University. She received a PhD in Neuroscience from the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, University of Manitoba, Canada. She then completed post-doctoral research in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology, Dalhousie University, focusing on developing biomarkers for post-traumatic stress disorder, mild traumatic brain injury, and major depressive disorder using LC-MS/MS. She was also cross-trained as a meta-analyst during the postdoctoral fellowship, leading to a professional career as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry, generating evidence in the areas of health economics, clinical efficacy and safety, and quality of life studies. She then completed post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Chemistry from the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto. Post fellowship, she started working as clinical chemist in Provincial Laboratory Services, Health PEI in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Her research interests include neuroscience, immunology, evidence synthesis, laboratory best practices, and quality improvement.
