Xuan Mu, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering at the University of Iowa. He worked at several institutes, including the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (Beijing), Peking Union Medical College (Beijing), Tufts University, and Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He received the General Electric (GE) Foundation Scholarship, the Kwan-Cheng Wong postdoctoral fellowship, the Peking Union Medical College Rising Star Award, the Distinguished Abstract Award of NACB (ADLM), the UIOWA Jumpstart Tomorrow Feasibility Award, and the 2023 BMES ABioM Junior Investigator Research Award.
His research focuses on leveraging bioinspired fabrication approaches to devising sustainable and biofunctional structures, particularly emphasizing therapeutic tissue scaffolds, diagnostic assays, and bioengineered disease models for the respiratory system.
