Fellow
Academy fellowship is open to professional members of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM, formerly AACC) who have doctoral degrees (PhD in a scientific field, MD, or equivalent), have at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in laboratory medicine, and meet two of the three criteria below:
- American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) or other acceptable board certification.
- Achievements in research or education in the field of laboratory medicine. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Publication of peer‐reviewed papers, book chapters, or articles in laboratory medicine
- Presentations (oral or poster) at laboratory medicine related meetings
- Development of curricula or actively teaching or mentoring in the area for laboratory medicine‐related disciplines
- Contributions to the field of laboratory medicine. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Participation in committees or boards for laboratory medicine‐related organizations locally, nationally, or internationally
- Member of executive councils or boards for laboratory medicine-related organizations locally, nationally, or internationally
- Member of a laboratory medicine journal editorial board
To maintain full fellow status, fellows must demonstrate ongoing contributions to the field of laboratory medicine and continue to meet the criteria above.
Associate Fellow
Doctoral level ADLM professional members who have at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in laboratory medicine and meet at least one of the three optional criteria described above. Associate fellows are eligible to apply for full fellowship once they meet the above criteria.
