ADLM programs

  • The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) Health Equity and Access Division: This ADLM division leads the integration, promotion, and advocacy for inclusion and diversity in advancing global science and the practice of laboratory medicine.
  • Global Lab Quality Initiative: This program partners with national clinical chemistry societies outside the U.S. to improve the quality of laboratory testing worldwide.
  • ADLM Annual Meeting. View the library of selected DEI and Health Equity related sessions from ADLM's Annual Meeting.
  • High School Speaker Series: This program aims to increase awareness and understanding of careers in clinical laboratory medicine among high school students.
  • ADLM Scholars Program: CLS students are invited to apply to the ADLM Scholars Program during the ADLM Annual Meeting. The program aims to introduce students to ADLM, laboratory medicine career paths, and to build longstanding mentor-mentee relationships between the students and ADLM members.

Scoring rubric best practices

  • ADLM has developed scoring rubric best practices to help committees and award reviewers make fair, transparent, and consistent decisions. These guidelines promote objective evaluation criteria, standardized scoring processes, reviewer training, and ongoing assessment to support equitable outcomes across programs and opportunities.   • In 2025, ADLM conducted a follow-up survey of volunteers to assess progress, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to strengthen diversity, equity, inclusion, and health equity efforts across the association and the laboratory medicine and pathology profession.   • As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing DEI and health equity, ADLM launched its first volunteer DEI survey in September 2023 to gather feedback, perspectives, and recommendations on future priorities.
