ADLM submits recommendations to CMS for CY 2026 CLFS code

On May 29, ADLM submitted recommendations to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding new and reconsidered codes for the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) for calendar year 2026. The comments were submitted ahead of CMS’s Annual Public Meeting.

ADLM’s recommendations focused on crosswalking several new codes to existing CLFS entries that more accurately reflect the testing methodologies and clinical applications involved. These included molecular tests for infectious disease resistance markers, optical genome mapping for hematologic malignancies and rare diseases, and multiplex assays for sexually transmitted infections and respiratory pathogens, including COVID-19 and influenza.

ADLM will continue to monitor developments related to CLFS pricing and advocate for evidence-based reimbursement decisions that support innovation and patient access to laboratory services.
