On March 27, 2026, ADLM joined a coalition of public health, laboratory, and healthcare organizations in sending a letter to congressional appropriators urging robust FY 2027 funding for CDC public health data modernization efforts. The letter calls for $340 million for Public Health Data Modernization, $55 million for Response Ready Enterprise Data Integration (RREDI), and $100 million for CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics (CFA), emphasizing that sustained investment is needed to support state, Tribal, local, and territorial health departments, strengthen disease detection and response, and maintain the workforce and infrastructure required for timely, interoperable public health data exchange. The coalition also highlights the importance of continued support for core public health data systems, including electronic case reporting, laboratory information systems, syndromic surveillance, electronic vital records, and the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System. ADLM advocacy will remain dedicated to advancing policies that strengthen the nation’s public health and laboratory infrastructure.
