On April 20, ADLM participated with other laboratory, patient, provider, and diagnostics stakeholders in meetings with congressional offices to urge support for the Reforming and Enhancing Sustainable Updates to Laboratory Testing Services Act, or RESULTS Act.
During the meetings, ADLM and fellow stakeholders made clear the need for long-term reform of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act and asked offices to cosponsor H.R. 5269/S. 2761. The discussions focused on concerns with the current Medicare Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule rate-setting process, the upcoming resumption of PAMA data reporting, and scheduled payment reductions beginning January 1, 2027.
Discussions emphasized that the RESULTS Act would improve the data used to set Medicare reimbursement rates for clinical laboratory services, reduce reporting burden, and establish payment stability for laboratories. The legislation would also hold CLFS rates at current levels through 2028 while transitioning to a new data reporting system and limit future annual reductions.
ADLM, alongside its allies, support policies that protect patient access to clinical laboratory testing and strengthen the long-term stability of the laboratory infrastructure.
