Point-of-care (POC) urinary drug screening provides fast turnaround of results. Therefore, it can be an attractive test option to some providers. However, limitations of POC drug screen testing make it less than ideal in many situations. This article explores the limitations of POC urine drug tests, while also providing context on when they may be useful, and perspectives from practicing providers.
