Collective engagement
- Tools such as the DEI Lens have been shared with volunteer committees to guide awareness and cultural transformation throughout the association.

DEIHE leadership award
This award aims to spotlight individuals/clinical laboratory teams that champion diversity, equity, inclusion and health equity. One ADLM member and one Clinical Laboratory Team that has made significant contribution in raising awareness and advancing DEI initiatives in the laboratory medicine community will receive the Humans of ADLM – DEIHE Leadership Award. Individual award is $1,500/Team award is $3,000. Learn more about criteria and eligibility.

Developed by the ADLM DEI Steering Committee, this on-demand webinar is the first in a series designed to empower attendees with definitions and frameworks to make DEI and health equity accessible. Register today for key insights from experts. Accent accredited.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe key diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and health equity terminology.
- List examples of unconscious bias that may impact the professional workplace of clinical laboratorians.
- Define intersectionality, power and identity conceptually and how it applies in oneself.
- Provide examples for applying the ADLM DEI lens in laboratory medicine.

Publications
Scholars program
Students from select schools were invited to participate in the inaugural ADLM Scholars event during this year’s Annual Meeting. The goal of the program is to introduce the students to ADLM, laboratory medicine career paths and to start to build longstanding relationships with ADLM members, as mentors. The program provides mentorship, a panel on career pathways, and opportunities to attend a number of events during ADLM Annual Meeting. High School Speaker Series
The High School Speaker Series aims to increase awareness and understanding of careers in clinical laboratory science among high school students through school-based engagement such as classroom presentations, science fairs, and career events. Learn more.
